Kroger is Selling CBD

Kroger is a massive grocery retailer with close to 1,000 stores. They have recently announced they are rolling out CBD products in retail locations and their affiliated pharmacies. Don’t expect its aisles lined with CBD edibles anytime soon though. The chain will start selling topical items though that have hemp-derived CBD in them. These items include creams, balms, and oils. This is not some limited release too they will have those items in 975 stores spanning 17 states.

Kroger is not the first national retailer to stock CBD products. Walgreens and CVS have already done this. Other stores like Vitamin Shoppe and GNC have also hopped on the CBD bandwagon. Now, the farm bill that was passed allows retailers to sell CBD infused items, but none of those items are edible. That means no food and no dietary supplements.

More consumers are willing to give CBD a try these days. It is a non-intoxicating cannabis compound that helps relieve pain, stress, and anxiety. In fact, some professional athletes endorse certain CBD-infused items related for chronic pain relief.

This move by Kroger is said to be just one of the many changes they have employed recently. The goal of said changes is to ward off competitors like Walmart and Amazon. These changes have included delivery services and digital sales.
